Carolyn Wada Hui would say that her clearest memories from childhood and adolescence involve swimming on the beaches of California and Honolulu. Carolyn swam competitively in high school but actually developed a much more efficient freestyle stroke many years later, while training for an Olympic distance triathlon in Chicago. After graduating from University of California Irvine in Criminology, then earning a Master’s in English from San Francisco State University, Carolyn enjoyed several years teaching both children and adults. Last year, she decided to build on her part-time swimming and water exercise instruction experiences by getting certified as a personal trainer. Besides swimming, Carolyn also enjoys reading health and wellness blogs, spending time outdoors with her husband, two kids, and adorable poodle/chihuahua mix Rex, and cheering for her son’s soccer team (Go Rush!). If learning to swim is on your bucket list, or you’d just like to learn a new stroke or improve the one(s) you already know, schedule a session with Carolyn!
